
Digital Strategist

Neighbors for a Better San Francisco and Blueprint SF are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and politically savvy Digital Strategist & Social Media Manager. This role is central to our mission of engaging San Francisco residents and advocating for a safer, more vibrant, and accountable city.
The ideal candidate is a "full-stack" digital communicator: someone who can draft a compelling update on San Francisco politics, design an eye-catching Instagram carousel, and manage the technical back-end of a CRM with equal proficiency. You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of our digital presence, ensuring our message reaches the right audiences at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Email Marketing, Digital Advocacy, & Website Management
Develop and execute an email calendar that aligns with legislative sessions, election cycles, and community events.
Write persuasive, concise, and punchy copy for newsletters, rapid-response alerts, and website blog posts.
Handle the end-to-end process of scheduling, testing, and sending emails to various member segments.
Manage external contractors and developers to update the website as needed, ensuring technical fixes, content updates, and landing page builds are completed on time and within scope
Manage all social media channels (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.), creating daily posts that translate complex SF policy into digestible content.
Design and execute digital ad campaigns to expand our reach across diverse San Francisco neighborhoods.
Develop and distribute digital content (graphics, email, and social) to support aligned political candidates and ballot measure campaigns.
3. Graphic Design & Visual Storytelling
Create high-quality visual assets, including social media graphics, event flyers, digital ads, and slide decks.
Ensure all digital materials maintain a consistent look and feel that aligns with the professional and impactful brands of Neighbors and Blueprint SF.
4. CRM Management & Data Integrity
Act as the primary administrator for our CRM (e.g. HubSpot), ensuring data is clean, tagged correctly, and up-to-date.
Build targeted lists for specific outreach efforts based on neighborhood and interests.
Track and report on digital KPIs (open rates, click-through rates, follower growth) to refine strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven track record of managing high-volume email programs with a focus on deliverability and engagement.
Deep knowledge of platform algorithms and trends; ability to create "scroll-stopping" content.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator) or high-level Canva expertise.
Experience maintaining and updating complex databases; ability to troubleshoot and optimize digital workflows.
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to pivot between "policy-wonk" detail and "man-on-the-street" accessibility.
A strong understanding of the San Francisco political landscape, including the Board of Supervisors, City Hall dynamics, and key local issues.
