Digital Designer (d/f/m)

Taxfix, New York, NY, United States

Midweight Digital Designer

As a Midweight Digital Designer at Taxfix, you'll take ownership of design projects across our web ecosystem from landing pages and content migrations to conversion-optimised marketing funnels across multiple European markets. You'll work closely with a senior designer who'll mentor and pair with you on complex projects, while reporting directly to our Design Lead. We're looking for someone with 35 years of professional digital design experience and a portfolio that shows your best work. You bring design excellence a meticulous eye, high standards, and the ability to develop visual and dynamic design concepts that stand out. You're proficient in Figma at an expert level, including prototyping and component architecture, and you have hands-on CMS experience (we use Uniform, but Contentful, Storyblok, or similar counts). This is a hands-on role. You'll be designing, building, and shipping work that millions of people interact with. But it's also a role with room to grow we want someone who brings ideas to the table, not just executes on briefs. What makes this role special? Our Creative Studio is a tight-knit team of designers who are genuinely passionate about their craft. We hold ourselves to high creative standards, we challenge each other constructively, and we actively push the boundaries of what's possible with emerging design tools and technology. In an industry most people find boring, we make work that's anything but. This is a hands-on role. You'll be designing, building, and shipping work that millions of people interact with. But it's also a role with room to grow we want someone who brings ideas to the table, not just executes on briefs. Your Responsibilities:

Turn landing pages into visual stories transform hero sections and page flows into compelling narratives that stop the scroll, communicate value instantly, and move people to act. You'll partner closely with our copywriter to craft experiences where visual and verbal storytelling are inseparable

Develop visual and dynamic design concepts don't just lay out content, conceptualise it. We want someone who thinks about motion, hierarchy, pacing, and emotional impact before opening Figma

Own and deliver landing pages, web experiences, and content pages from concept through to production across multiple markets and brands

Design for conversion build user engaging, device-optimised experiences that balance creative ambition with measurable business impact

Work within and evolve our component-based design system, ensuring consistency while pushing quality forward

Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, engineering, and content teams to solve creative challenges

Experiment with emerging tools from AI-assisted design and prototyping to code-informed workflows, and share what you learn with the team

Sweat the details pixel-level precision, typographic rigour, interaction quality. We notice, and so should you

Use data to inform decisions leverage analytics, A/B test results, and user research to iterate and improve

Your Profile:

Must-haves: Coding literacy you don't need to be a developer, but understanding HTML/CSS/JS well enough to direct AI coding tools or prototype ideas independently is a serious advantage

Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (Figma Make, Lovable, Cursor, or similar)

Experience working with component-based design systems at scale

Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-platform optimisation

Comfort using data and performance metrics to inform design decisions

Very good English (written and spoken) is required, as English is our company language.

Strong differentiators: Familiarity with node-based or automation workflows

Understanding of prompt engineering principles

CRM and marketing automation experience (email, lifecycle)

ASO (App Store Optimization) experience

Experience working across multiple markets or localised content

You're Someone Who

Has an eagle eye and genuinely high creative standards you're not satisfied with "good enough"

Gets excited about emerging technology and finds ways to integrate it into your craft, not for the sake of it, but because it makes the work better and faster

Thinks in systems, not just screens you see the bigger picture of how components, pages, and journeys connect

Communicates clearly and proactively, especially when things are ambiguous or shifting

Works autonomously once pointed in a direction, but knows when to pull others in

Brings creative energy and ideas, not just execution

Is curious, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys learning new tools and methods
