The Housekeeping Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of facility. This position ensures that all public areas, corridors, and service zones are kept tidy and well-stocked, contributing to a welcoming environment for guests. The Housekeeping Porter supports the housekeeping team by transporting linens, supplies, and waste efficiently and safely throughout the property. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential to promptly address any cleanliness or maintenance issues that arise. Ultimately, this role helps uphold the facility's standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction through consistent and reliable support. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely, including linens and cleaning supplies. Basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures. Good physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or porter roles within hospitality settings. Familiarity with safety standards related to cleaning chemicals and equipment. Ability to operate housekeeping carts and basic cleaning machinery. Customer service experience to assist guests courteously when needed. Certification in workplace safety or hospitality services is a plus. Responsibilities: Collect and remove trash, recyclables, and soiled linens from guest rooms and public areas. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in hallways, stairwells, elevators, and other public spaces. Clean in assigned areas, including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, walls, furniture, garbage cans, etc. Possibly operate floor scrubbers and other equipment Transport supplies to housekeeping staff and guest rooms/areas as needed. Maintain cleaning inventory Stock and maintain Porter supply rooms Assist with setting up and breaking down housekeeping carts and storage areas. Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or guest concerns to the appropriate department promptly. Support the housekeeping team during peak periods by performing additional cleaning or organizational tasks. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment. Skills: The Housekeeping Porter uses physical stamina and organizational skills daily. Attention to detail is critical when maintaining cleanliness in public areas and identifying potential maintenance or safety issues. Communication skills enable the porter to coordinate effectively with housekeeping staff and report concerns promptly to supervisors. Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety protocols ensures that tasks are completed in compliance with health standards, protecting both staff and guests.
