ProSidian seeks a Communications And Media Engagement Specialist - GSSC (Full-Time) to support an engagement for the US Dept. of Energy (DOE) Hanford. Preferred candidates present with relevant Government, Public Sector and Infrastructure (Nuclear and Environmental) Sector experience (functional area experience also ideal) - SCA Code: N/A. This position is located in the. Communications And Media Engagement Specialist - GSSC Candidates shall work to support requirements for PR0119 RFQ FY22-SB12 Communication Support Swim Lanes and statement of work (SOW) while maintaining required qualifications with relevant Government, Public Sector and Infrastructure (Nuclear and Environmental) Sector experience (functional area experience also ideal). ProSidian Team Members (# FTe's: 1) work as part of the Engagement Team Cadre to provide support with external and internal communications and engagement Communication Support Services as part of general support services at the Hanford Site on behalf of The US Department of Energy (DOE), Richland Operations Office (RL) and Office of River Protection (ORP), DOE Hanford Office of Communications (HOC). Responsibilities include: Develop comprehensive communication strategies on highly technical subjects, to inform and educate internal and external stakeholders with varying levels of education and knowledge on the topics. Prepare media engagement materials, sometimes requiring research and understanding of technical material. Use communication products to inform and educate various internal and external audiences and stakeholders. Develop, coordinate, review, and approve communication products, including but not limited to presentations, press releases, announcements, fact sheets, and fliers on tank farms and Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) topics for delivery at various stakeholder engagements, including the Hanford Advisory Board, Oregon Hanford Advisory Board, Hanford Communities, local decision-makers, Congressional and legislative staff. Qualifications include: Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years. Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. Education BS/BA in communications or a related field of study. Five (5) years of relevant experience. Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience in writing for external non-technical audiences on highly technical topics. Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience of media strategies and tools. Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience to interface successfully with senior level management. Ability to work with government and contractor personnel to problem solve and formulate strategies for success. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Expert knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, and/or other MS Office tools. Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience with procedures. Experience with government procedures is preferred. Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience associated with the Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities. (preferred) Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience with the Department of Energy's program management practices, policies, and procedures, and specifically those at Hanford. (preferred) Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience with the Hanford Site tank farm mission and status. (preferred) Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience with the Hanford Site WTP Project. (preferred) Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience or knowledge about the Hanford stakeholder groups. (preferred) Identification of any conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site contractors. Fully vaccinated against COVID, a granted exception to vaccination for COVID, or able to meet entry and testing requirements for entrance and work in federal buildings. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements. Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
