Technical Writer
Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 6 years or more of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of Contractor staff. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The purpose of this request is to procure a resource for Departments Business customers primarily in the Engineering Automation Area (Inroads Upgrade), and Transportation Development Financial Plan/STIP area. The general tasks the contractor will perform are as follows:
Business Technical Writing:
- Tasks will relate to the development of business technical manual(s) and user guide development.
- Working directly with the business customer(s), understanding the current business process(es) and the automated systems in place and being upgraded.
- This technical writing will span at least two primary business lines (Engineering Automation and Transportation Planning).
- One of the projects relates more to technical documentation while the other project is more focused on business process/technology related.
