Responsibilities
As an Anchor, you are the face of a story, connecting audiences with the news that matters to their communities. You're also a leader behind the scenes, playing an active role in editorial discussions and decisions. You play a critical role on a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, and accurate content intended to engage and connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.

Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS NECN
Required Qualifications
- Experience : Television news anchoring - 5-7 years
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or comparable television work experience
- Technical Skills : Experience in live shooting and editing news
- Skills : Excellent on-air camera skills, ability to work under pressure
- Abilities : Leadership skills, capable of managing multiple priorities as well as a proactive problem-solver, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
- Travel Ability : Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
- Schedule : Work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies and able to work weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a 24-hour news channel
Working Conditions
- Works inside in a climate-controlled environment but may be assigned to field duties and be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions.
