Cybersecurity Professional Intern - ICBD - Downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL HQ
$18 - $22 /hour + College Credit
Duration: 8-12 weeks
Schedule: 30-40 hours per week - on-site in our Fort Lauderdale Corporate Office Monday-Friday
About the Role The Cybersecurity Professional Intern will support key initiatives within the organization’s cybersecurity program. This internship provides hands‑on experience across multiple cybersecurity domains, allowing interns to gain exposure to real‑world security operations, risk management, compliance, and engineering practices.
Interns will have the opportunity to align their experience with specific areas of interest and will contribute to meaningful deliverables that support the organization’s overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures
Support risk assessments, audits, and compliance initiatives (including HIPAA where applicable)
Contribute to incident response activities, including documentation and post‑incident analysis
Participate in monitoring and identifying emerging cybersecurity threats
Assist in third‑party/vendor risk evaluations and documentation
Support identity and access management processes, including access reviews and audits
Contribute to security awareness initiatives and training materials
Assist in developing architecture documentation and technical security solutions (for engineering‑focused interns)
Complete assigned project deliverables aligned to selected cybersecurity focus area
Intern Deliverables
Security policies, standards, and procedural documentation
Risk assessments and analysis reports
Compliance documentation and audit support materials
Incident response documentation and summaries
Security architecture diagrams or plans
Threat monitoring reports and findings
Process improvement recommendations
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
Demonstrated academic experience in cybersecurity or IT‑related coursework
Strong interest in cybersecurity practices, risk management, and information security
Eligibility to work within designated cybersecurity domains may be limited based on level of education, certifications, or technical expertise
Certain advanced areas within the cybersecurity program may require graduate‑level education or specific certifications
Willingness to complete onboarding requirements, including background screening and NDA
Preferred:
Pursuing or enrolled in a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field (for advanced areas)
Relevant certifications such as:
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
Security+
or other applicable cybersecurity certifications
Internship Requirements
Must be eligible to receive academic credit through an accredited college or university
Documentation from the academic institution may be required prior to the start of the internship
Internship schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 5 hours per day (schedule to be coordinated with academic requirements)
ICBD participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program.
