Key Accountabilities
Strategic Governance: Define and execute the multi-year quality roadmap; align quality objectives with global business growth and P&L targets.
Regulatory & Certification: Maintain absolute compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ISO 9001, and CMMC certifications. Act as the primary liaison for the FAA, DCMA, and major Primes (e.g., Boeing, Airbus, Textron).
Zero-Defect Culture: Champion Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Built in Quality (BIQ) to ensure quality is "designed in" rather than "inspected in."
Operational Excellence: Oversee Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes for major non-conformances; utilize Six Sigma methodologies to aggressively reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
Supplier Quality: Lead a global supplier audit program to ensure the integrity of the entire value chain.
Talent Development: Direct, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Quality Managers across decentralized locations.
Qualifications
B.S. in Aerospace, Business, or related technical field.
MBA or M.S.
in Quality Management highly preferred.
10+ years in Aerospace & Defense manufacturing; trade compliance leadership in manufacturing or defense production.
Direct enterprise-wide trade compliance strategy across all manufacturing operations.
Oversee ITAR/EAR/CUI jurisdiction, classification, export licensing, and Technology Control Plans.
Lead CMMC 2.0 Level 2 implementation, ensuring NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 2 controls are fully adopted.
Deep knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, BIS, and DDTC requirements.
Proven experience implementing CMMC Level 2 or NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity requirements.
Strong experience governing technical data across engineering and production environments.
Ensure secure handling of engineering CAD files, CNC programs, PLM/ERP/MES data, and controlled technical information.
Manage restricted-party screening, audits, investigations, and supplier compliance oversight.
Integrate export-control and cybersecurity practices into manufacturing workflows and global supply chains.
Maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, SPRS entries, and all compliance documentation across sites.
5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site operations.
Expert knowledge of
AS9102 (First Article Inspection) , Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Certifications:
ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
Hybrid role and ability to travel up to 25% of time.
Preferred Qualifications
CMMC Certified Professional or cybersecurity governance certification.
Legal, export compliance, or regulatory certification.
Experience with multi-site manufacturing environments supporting defense programs.
