Director of Research | Life Sciences

Seeking a Director of Research | Life Sciences to build and lead a strategic initiative focused on unlocking the value of healthcare data across research, public health, and commercial applications.
This is a high-impact, externally facing leadership role at the intersection of clinical data, healthcare research, and business development. The Director will be responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing partnerships that leverage healthcare data - particularly within the New York healthcare and public health ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines deep subject matter expertise in clinical/healthcare data with strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of driving initiatives from concept through execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
6–8+ years of experience across a combination of: Healthcare data / clinical data analytics | Healthcare research or life sciences | Public health or health system environments Proven client-facing experience with strong external stakeholder engagement Experience working within or alongside New York healthcare systems, public health organizations, or research ecosystems strongly preferred Clinical Data Analyst transitioning into research, strategy, or partnerships Healthcare data roles within: Health systems (e.g., academic medical centers) | Public health departments | Life sciences or research organizations Experience with EMR platforms such as Epic or similar systems is a plus Strong understanding of: Clinical and healthcare data structures | Data extraction, transformation, and reporting concepts Familiarity with tools such as: Tableau or similar BI | visualization platforms Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences Technical fluency required (hands-on engineering not required) Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills Demonstrated ability to: Identify and qualify opportunities | Influence stakeholders | Drive initiatives forward to execution Entrepreneurial mindset with a “builder” mentality Strong presentation and storytelling capabilities Key Attributes for Success
