
Community Ambassador

Community Connections, Inc. is seeking outgoing Southwest Colorado residents (Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, or San Juan County) to serve as Community Ambassadors for Southwest Colorado Cares, a new program of Community Connections. Community Ambassadors will help community members know what resources are available in the region to improve health and well‑being, and will keep the Southwest Colorado Cares resource directory up to date.

FLSA Status:
Hourly, Part-Time, non-exempt: up to 7 hours weekly
Location:
Hybrid position for residents of Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, or San Juan Counties
Key Responsibilities
Share information about Southwest Colorado Cares (SWCC) and its resources with family, friends, neighbors, and community members.
Contact community organizations to ensure SWCC has up‑to‑date local resource information.
Represent SWCC at community gatherings, meetings, and events.
Gather ideas from the community to enhance and improve SWCC.
Core Competencies / Qualifications
Enthusiastically communicate about SWCC and community resources.
Strong community ties and passion for helping members connect to resources for basic needs.
Ability to represent the lived experience of marginalized groups.
Ability to travel by car or public transportation throughout county of residence and periodically to regional meetings.
Comfortable using phone, email, and videoconferencing to interact with staff, Ambassadors, and community members.
Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
Adequate internet connectivity and a work area to secure remote activity.
Use of standard office equipment.
Effective written and in‑person communication.
Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance if driving for business.
Successful completion of background checks and references, including motor vehicle record.
Working Conditions
Local travel within the community may be required.
Flexible schedule is possible.
Benefits
Hourly rate of $20.00 plus travel reimbursement.
401K participation after 12 months of employment and 1,000 hours worked within those 12 months.
