Vice President – Commercial Strategy & Infrastructure Growth
Location: Western United States (Travel Required)
Company Overview Our client is a privately held infrastructure platform that owns and operates critical energy transportation and storage assets serving major transportation hubs and high-growth metropolitan markets across the United States. The portfolio includes liquid fuels pipeline systems, terminal facilities, and specialty storage assets supporting aviation and refined product distribution. The organization is focused on disciplined capital deployment, operational excellence, and strategic expansion through development and acquisitions.
Position Overview The company is seeking a senior commercial executive to lead expansion strategy across infrastructure development, structured partnerships, and strategic transactions. This leader will drive new market entry, originate and structure complex opportunities, and execute commercial strategies that unlock long-term asset value. The role requires an experienced dealmaker comfortable operating in ambiguity, with strong knowledge of regulatory and capital frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate greenfield and brownfield infrastructure investment opportunities
Lead transaction execution including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, risk assessment, and commercial structuring
Originate and negotiate strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities
Develop pricing frameworks and contract structures to optimize long-term asset utilization and margin performance
Build executive-level relationships with transportation authorities, operators, suppliers, and capital partners
Support capital allocation strategy and long-range commercial planning
Prepare and present investment cases to executive leadership and board stakeholders
Ensure compliance across commercial agreements and regulatory frameworksBuild and lead a high-performing commercial team
Represent the organization at industry forums and executive-level engagements
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience within energy infrastructure, aviation fuel systems, refined products midstream, or comparable asset-based environments
Demonstrated success closing complex infrastructure transactions (development, partnerships, acquisitions)
Experience structuring and negotiating multi-party commercial agreements
Strong financial acumen including modeling, valuation, and risk assessment
Track record of expanding markets, launching new revenue streams, or entering new geographies
Deep understanding of infrastructure regulatory environments and capital frameworks
Experience leading teams in lean, growth-oriented environments
Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline preferred)
Ability to travel extensively (50–75%)
