TEKsystems, New York, NY, United States
UI Product Designer (Mobile)
HYBRID IN Manhattan
Must currently be based close enough to commute for this role.
About the Role We're looking for a UI-focused Product Designer with exceptional visual design skills and 3-5 years of experience designing native mobile applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high‑fidelity interface design, has strong visual instincts, and enjoys elevating product experiences through polished UI, motion, and thoughtful interaction design.
You’ll partner closely with a senior product and UX lead, owning visual execution and helping bring product concepts and UX direction to life through refined, production‑ready mobile interfaces. This role plays a critical part in raising the overall quality, creativity, and visual polish of a large‑scale mobile app.
What You’ll Do
Design high‑fidelity UI for new features and enhancements across a native mobile app.
Translate product requirements, user flows, and low‑fidelity wireframes into polished, visually compelling interface designs.
Elevate visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color, and interaction patterns to guide user behavior.
Create interactive prototypes to clearly communicate flows, interaction behavior, and product logic.
Design thoughtful loading states, progress indicators, and microinteractions to improve perceived performance and engagement.
Work within and extend an established mobile design system to ensure consistency and scalability.
Partner closely with engineers to ensure high‑fidelity implementation of designs.
Balance multiple projects in parallel while maintaining a high bar for UI craft and execution.
What We’re Looking For
Strong visual UI craft and attention to detail demonstrated through portfolio work.
3‑5 years of experience designing native mobile applications (iOS and Android).
Ability to take UX direction and product concepts and translate them into high‑quality, high‑fidelity UI.
Deep understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, color, spacing, and layout in mobile design.
Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, variants, and libraries.
Experience working within enterprise‑scale design systems and component libraries.
Strong collaboration skills with product managers and engineering partners.
Ability to produce production‑ready interface designs suitable for development handoff.
Nice to Have
Experience with animation and motion design.
Strong interaction design instincts and comfort designing microinteractions.
Experience creating visually engaging loading states, transitions, or progress feedback.
Portfolio Expectations
Portfolio should primarily feature native mobile work.
Strong emphasis on visual UI craft and execution rather than research or UX artifacts.
Demonstrated ability to elevate low‑fidelity concepts into polished, high‑fidelity designs.
Real‑world or shipped product work preferred over speculative or sample projects.
Bonus for showcasing subtle animation, motion, or interaction polish.
Work Environment This is a hybrid role based in New York City, with in‑office collaboration expected several days per week.
Why This Role Matters This role supports critical activation, onboarding, and acquisition experiences within a highly visible mobile product. You’ll act as a visual design counterpart to a UX‑leaning product lead, helping close a creativity gap and directly influencing the look, feel, and quality of the mobile experience used by millions.
