Job Summary:
Genesis Consulting is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking SAP Concur Functional Consultant with a passion for growth and business transformation. The Functional Consultant will lead functional design, configuration, and deployment of a new automated, web-based Travel Management System (TMS) built on SAP Concur. The SAP Concur Functional Consultant will ensure that the client’s new TMS is properly configured to support automated travel booking, approval routing, reimbursement processing, compliance controls, and system integrations. This role is critical to delivering a scalable, compliant, and user-friendly solution that meets operational and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities Requirements & Functional Design
Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders across all 14 divisions.
Analyze current-state travel authorization (TA), booking, approval, reimbursement, and audit workflows.
Design future-state SAP Concur configurations that align with Board policies and divisional approval hierarchies.
Develop functional design documents (FDDs), configuration workbooks, and process flow diagrams.
System Configuration
Expense and automated reimbursement processing
Approval hierarchies and routing logic
Configure compliance controls, audit rules, per diem rates, and policy enforcement settings.
Support funding structures and financial coding alignment for integration with the Board’s monitoring and reimbursement systems.
Integration & Data Alignment
Collaborate with technical teams to define and validate system integrations with:
Monitoring systems
Reimbursement and financial systems
Travel claim audit services
Support field mapping, interface design validation, workflow alignment, and data reconciliation.
Participate in data migration and validation activities.
Testing & Deployment
Develop functional test scripts and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Troubleshoot configuration issues and resolve defects.
Support phased rollout across divisions and traveler groups.
Provide post-go-live stabilization support and configuration refinements.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure solution alignment with Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) requirements and internal Board policies.
Embed compliance checkpoints within TA and reimbursement workflows.
Support audit readiness and reporting capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of experience implementing SAP Concur Travel and Expense solutions.
Demonstrated experience configuring travel authorization, booking, expense, and reimbursement modules.
Experience supporting federal or highly regulated financial environments.
Strong understanding of GDS integrations and enterprise financial system interfaces.
Experience supporting organizations with 2,000+ users and complex approval hierarchies.
Ability to translate business requirements into system configuration.
Experience implementing SAP Concur within federal financial regulatory agencies.
Knowledge of FFIEC-related operational environments.
Experience supporting large-scale travel programs ($10M+ annual spend).
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Certifications
CIP (Certified Implementation Partner) Certification Required.
