Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually
Job Summary The Director of Wellness (DOW) is responsible for managing and coordinating all nursing and wellness services in accordance with the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Assisted Living Regulations. The DOW oversees nursing and care staff, maintains regulatory compliance, manages clinical documentation, and collaborates with other departments to support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
Leading by example, maintaining a professional work relationship with the household team and residents, and their family members
Conducting comprehensive initial and periodic nursing assessments for all residents to determine individual service needs and eligibility for assisted living level of care
Develop, review, and update individualized Resident Service Plans and Health Service Plans in coordination with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Supervise and evaluate licensed nurses and care partners in daily care delivery
Provide direct nursing care and clinical oversight for residents with complex or changing medical needs
Monitor medication administration systems
Develop departmental policies and procedures for the clinical team
Quality assurance/performance improvement initiatives, audits, and performance improvement programs focused on resident outcomes, safety, and hospitality‑driven services
Ensure proper team education and competencies
Demonstrate supportive and caring assistance to all those we care for and serve in a dignified, respectful manner, demonstrating an understanding of person‑directed lifestyle
Display behavior that supports Fellowship’s mission, vision, values, and policies; consistently perform position responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner
Display ability and willingness to contribute to the team by communicating effectively and consistently; follow rules and procedures; participate in decision making and problem solving; and offer new ideas and suggestions to maximize team performance for the benefit of all those we care for and serve, as well as fellow team members
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Current Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the New Jersey Board of Nursing
Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or administrative capacity within assisted living, long‑term care, or senior living setting
Thorough knowledge of N.J.A.C. 8:36 Assisted Living Regulations and NJDOH survey processes
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and clinical documentation standards
CPR and First Aid certification (as required by NJ regulation)
Knowledge of long‑term care management, policies, budgeting, personnel management and census development
Demonstrated leadership qualities, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
