Field Sales & Merchandising Representative Location: Baltimore, MD or Washington, D.C. Territory. Full-time, 1st shift (M-F 7am-5pm). Travel required 100%. Exempt. Salary: $50,000 - $52,000.
Job Overview The Field Sales & Merchandising Representative (FSR) is responsible for sales and general merchandising duties at store and divisional level in their respective territory. The successful FSR will source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve Field Sales quotas. They manage negotiations, generate leads, qualify prospects, and manage sales of products and services, and research sales competition.
Responsibilities
Act as main point person on all Bolthouse Farms field sales and merchandising responsibilities within assigned territory.
Serve as the Sales Liaison to specific accounts or retailers assigned to territory.
Work prospects through entire sales cycle, develop leads, educate prospects, and build long‑term customer relationships.
Plan and execute projects within territory in accordance with company objectives.
Develop and implement strategies for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Monitor industry competitors, new products, and market conditions.
Conduct industry surveys to identify trends such as price of competing products, demand and current merchandising.
Establish and maintain win‑win business relationships with supermarket personnel to enhance product placement, distribute gaps, and optimize shelf space.
Maximize sales and customer service through planning, relationship building, and in‑store servicing.
Find creative solutions to expand shelf space and display materials; install glide racks, reset displays, roll out new products.
Set and meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics.
Prepare and present regular reports on territory sales and revenue to regional and national management.
Act as Brand Ambassador and interact with consumers.
Conduct in‑store demos where permitted.
Participate in RSM/NSD sales calls.
Create business‑advancing projects to increase product awareness and reduce out‑of‑stocks.
Report daily activities via Flowfinity software.
Analyze sales data and create strategies, proposals, and presentations.
Adapt scope of responsibilities based on business needs and market trends.
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education plus at least 3 years of relevant experience as a Produce Manager, Grocery Manager, or similar role.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Additional Required Qualifications
Confident, determined selling approach.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Analytical and data‑driven mindset.
High self‑motivation and drive; competitive spirit.
Team player and independent worker.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and willingness to learn proprietary software.
Available for extensive local and occasional overnight travel.
