Public Sector Marketing Director

ClearSpeed, Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Hybrid

Open to applicants located in the Washington D.C. metro area

Full-time with benefits

What You Will Do You will lead the strategic vision and execution of Clearspeed’s go-to-market approach across U.S. federal and state government markets. You will shape market strategy, influence executive decision-making, and drive integrated marketing initiatives that accelerate growth, credibility, and adoption within highly complex public sector environments. You will serve as the company’s marketing subject matter expert for government audiences — translating mission needs, procurement realities, and policy dynamics into effective positioning, messaging, and demand strategies. You will partner closely with senior leaders across marketing, sales, government affairs, product, and client success to deliver programs that resonate with agency decision-makers and buying committees.

Responsibilities

Own and drive Clearspeed’s public sector marketing strategy across U.S. federal and state agencies, aligning initiatives to revenue goals and long-term market positioning.

Lead the development of integrated go-to-market plans tailored to government buyers, influencers, and procurement stakeholders.

Design and execute high-impact demand generation, thought leadership, and brand-building programs that establish Clearspeed as a trusted partner in mission-critical environments.

Develop executive-level messaging, value propositions, and market narratives in partnership with communications, product marketing, and government affairs teams.

Serve as the strategic marketing partner to sales leadership, enabling pursuit strategies, account-based marketing efforts, and pipeline acceleration initiatives.

Guide creation of market-facing assets that align with agency priorities, acquisition pathways, and mission outcomes.

Lead public sector field marketing strategy, including major industry events, government engagements, and stakeholder outreach.

Analyze program effectiveness, market trends, and competitive intelligence to continuously refine strategy and maximize impact.

Act as an internal advisor on public sector market dynamics, influencing product positioning, roadmap considerations, and corporate strategy.

Perform related duties and lead additional strategic marketing initiatives as needed.

Who You Are You are a strategic, mission-oriented marketing leader with deep expertise in government markets and a track record of influencing growth in complex, regulated environments. You think at the market level, not just the campaign level, and you know how to translate policy, mission priorities, and procurement realities into compelling narratives that drive action. You bring executive presence, strong judgment, and the ability to operate autonomously while aligning diverse stakeholders. You thrive in ambiguity, move fluidly between strategy and execution, and are motivated by the opportunity to shape how transformative technology reaches public sector missions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including significant focus on U.S. federal and/or state government markets.

Demonstrated success leading public sector go-to-market strategy, demand generation, or market development initiatives.

Deep understanding of government buying processes, acquisition pathways, and stakeholder ecosystems.

Experience partnering with senior sales leaders on strategic pursuits and account-based initiatives.

Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage executive and policy-level audiences.

Proven ability to operate independently at a senior level while driving cross-functional alignment.

Experience in high-growth technology, SaaS, or mission-driven innovation environments strongly preferred.
