Job Title Principal – Energy Practice

Role Responsibilities

Provides day‑to‑day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process within those relationships, teaming with Partners and sharing responsibility for the success of a specific engagement.

Leads and manages complex programs to ensure on‑time delivery that meets agreed upon goals, leveraging Oliver Wyman best practice and the firm’s technical competence.

Guides and influences clients in an informed way across all situations, including execution of the commercial process, becoming a trusted advisor.

Engages fully in building business by identifying new and expanded opportunities.

Creates exciting and additive intellectual capital through thought leadership and knowledge of adjacent topics.

Develops others and builds a followership as part of asset building for the firm.

Leads firm building activities, seen as a role model for firm values with a strong personal brand within and outside the firm, and is well regarded by Partners, peers, and clients.

Desired Skills and Experience

8+ years of strategy consulting experience (combination of strategy consulting and chemicals/process industry experience also considered).

Experience in operator roles within Chemicals/Process Industries/Industrials.

Expert‑level practice‑specific knowledge of chemicals or adjacent process industries, especially deep supply chain/operations expertise.

Demonstrated track record of EBITDA improvement and operational transformation.

Strong execution orientation, not strategy‑only.

Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast‑paced, demanding environments.

Strong background in conceptual problem solving and analytical skills.

Ability to deploy expertise in thought leadership and other intellectual capital efforts to bolster business development.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a readiness to present work to senior executives at top‑tier clients.

Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.

Willingness to travel 50% of the time, including internationally.

Role is hybrid, targeting 60% togetherness.

Employment Details Hybrid work model – 60% togetherness, with travel required 50% of the time (including international).

Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required. Oliver Wyman does not offer sponsorship for this position.

Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $235K – $265K (adjusted based on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education). Eligible for performance‑based incentives.
