ATSU - Assistant Director of Assessment and Accreditation
A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a full-time, exempt Assistant Director of Assessment and Accreditation (AD) on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position reports to the Director, Office of Assessment and Accreditation and is responsible for managing, coordinating, and assisting with university accreditation efforts and processes, as well as program-specific external accreditation. The AD will collaborate with and provide consultation to schools, colleges, and programs concerning external program accreditations and university program review. The AD is the system administrator for the university survey software tool, Course Evaluations & Surveys (CES), used for end‑of‑course and graduate/exit surveys. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the OAA in the absence of the Director and for archiving all university assessment and accreditation documents/products. The AD is eligible for a campus, hybrid, or remote schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as system administrator for CES, training and orienting university staff; collecting and analyzing institutional and/or programmatic data; preparing and providing requested reports; developing and delivering effective training materials; and troubleshooting faculty, staff, and student user issues.
Contribute to the creation and generation of HLC assurance arguments (four‑year and ten‑year reaccreditation), including reviewing HLC criteria, collecting and reviewing university data, writing and editing criteria responses, linking evidence within the HLC assurance system, and ensuring completion of the assurance argument.
Manage the ATSU academic and non‑academic program review processes, including maintaining the university program review calendar, collaborating with the University Assessment Manager to create Taskstream AMS templates, leading program review orientations, overseeing the University Wide Assessment Committee and its subcommittees, developing and updating calibration items, creating and maintaining program review feedback forms, preparing reports for HLC accreditation, and maintaining the ATSU program review handbook.
Track and communicate with all programs undergoing external accreditation, leading assistance with external reviews, providing program team orientations, reviewing self‑studies for completeness and accuracy, developing timelines, and collecting and archiving accreditation documents.
Manage the development, distribution, and collection of the Director’s, SVPAA, and Deans’ evaluations, analyze result completeness, prepare and provide requested reports, assist with alumni survey development, and disseminate reports.
Develop and maintain collegial relationships with schools, colleges, and programs focused on university assessment and accreditation processes.
Ensure all university assessment and accreditation documents/products are archived.
Requirements Education & Experience
Master’s degree in Education.
3 to 5 years of experience.
Experience with higher education software systems (e.g., Canvas, Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Course Evaluations & Surveys, Taskstream, Digital Measures).
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting competing deadlines, and experience functioning in a project‑manager role.
Experience with various aspects of accreditation at the university and programmatic level.
Experience researching data‑collection questions.
Experience with data collection and distribution.
Experience in policy or process writing.
Experience with higher education academic accreditation theory and practice.
Experience managing groups of people and participating in team projects.
Knowledge of various aspects of accreditation at the university and programmatic level.
Knowledge of data collection and distribution.
Knowledge of higher education accreditation practices and processes.
Knowledge of higher education software systems.
