Tram Nguyen for Congress is looking for a disciplined, highly motivated and go-getting Finance Director. T his is an open seat and a highly competitive race that requires a disciplined, grassroots campaign operation. The Finance Director is a senior leadership role responsible for building and executing a fundraising program that meets the financial demands of a competitive congressional race. Ideal candidates should be highly organized and thrive in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities Finance Strategy and Planning

Collaborate with the Campaign Manager and finance consultant to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with campaign goals and budget projections

Set and track weekly, monthly, and quarterly fundraising targets

Prepare regular fundraising reports and projections for campaign leadership

Call Time

Manage the call time program, including scheduling, list building, and briefing materials

Oversee follow up and thank you note processes, and collaborate with Call Time Manager in execution

Conduct donor research and prospecting to identify new contributors in and out of district

Draft call sheets, scripts, background materials

Major Donor and Event Program

Cultivate and maintain relationships with in-district and national donors

Build and manage an events calendar tied to fundraising goals and plan and execute fundraising events in conjunction with hosts

Staff the candidate at fundraising events and donor meetings, in conjunction with Call Time Manager.

Finance Operations

Oversee daily donation processing and database management

Maintain the campaign’s fundraising database (Numero, ActBlue, and related tools)

Coordinate with compliance vendors to ensure full FEC compliance

Track and analyze fundraising performance metrics

Team Management

Train and supervise finance staff and interns, consultants, and select volunteers

Establish clear systems and accountability structures within the finance team

Coordinate closely with digital, communications, and political teams to align fundraising messaging and strategy

Qualifications

Mid- to senior-level finance role in at least two cycles, with experience fundraising on at least one campaign, or bring equivalent experience from high-stakes roles in politics, advocacy, or organizing

Strong Google Suite and Excel knowledge

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a wide array of stakeholders.

Ability to work nights and weekends as needed

Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Preferred: Strong working knowledge of Numero, ActBlue, and other digital finance and project management tools

The salary band for this position is $5,500 - $7,000 per month, commensurate with experience. The campaign offers a healthcare stipend of $500 a month, with potential for team-provided healthcare as the campaign grows. The position is full time.

This position is hybrid, based in the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District, and will require Massachusetts residency by June at the latest. It will require occasional travel, both in and out of state. Candidates must have a car, a driver’s license, a laptop, and a cell phone.
