Description As a UI/UX Design Mentor volunteer at Thaddeus Resource Center, you’ll help elevate the digital experience for the communities we serve by providing guidance, insight, and thoughtful feedback on user‑centered design. In this role, you will support and collaborate with our tech team to strengthen design approaches, enhance user interactions, and promote accessibility across our platforms. You’ll work alongside a passionate tech team that values creativity, integrity, and innovation.
Responsibilities
Directly supervise 5 to 10 web design or UI/UX interns under the Tech department.
Provide guidance on user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) concepts for our digital platforms.
Review wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs and offer constructive feedback.
Advise on user research approaches and interpretation of user feedback.
Recommend improvements to usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
Contribute to the evolution of our design system and style guide.
Stay up‑to‑date with the latest design trends and best practices and share insights with the team.
Collaborate with the tech team to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
Requirements
Have completed a Bachelor's degree in UI/UX, IT, Computer Science/Engineering or related studies.
5+ years’ experience working in IT, business management or a related field.
Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Possess strong organizational, problem‑solving and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi‑task.
Time Commitment and Working Conditions The responsibilities for this role are performed 100% remotely. 5 hrs./week including mandatory meetings. 1-year minimum. Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
Weekly All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9‑10 AM PST
Weekly Tech Department Meetings: Thursdays 10 AM – 12 PM PST
