About the role The primary role of the 2D FX Animator is to ensure the Animation Director, FX Supervisor, and FX Lead’s direction is being met from animatic to final animation. The role involves animating with care and consideration and maintaining the required style and quality of animation while hitting deadlines. Key Responsibilities & Qualifications Develop a clear understanding of the show by reviewing animatics and reference material to capture the tone. Design FX appropriate to the show’s style, considering colour, scale, and technical specifications. Ensure work files and folders are organised efficiently and follow naming conventions. Utilise FX concepts and video libraries when creating new FX and identify and reuse existing effects. Deliver work on schedule and to production standards, completing retakes in a timely manner. Propose creative solutions for FX that meet production quality and expectations. Keep up to date with latest initiatives and development in FX animation, including training and mentoring. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by company management. Prior FX animation experience is essential with a required showreel and portfolio. Strong grasp of basic FX animation fundamentals, problem‑solving skills, and a great work ethic. Ability to meet weekly quota and adhere to production schedule.
