Schedule: Full-time, 1400 - 2200
Compensation: $20.85 per hour
Key Job Responsibilities
Monitors all radio activity & operates police/Ohio Veterans Home radio system to dispatch agency personnel & police & safety personnel to all emergency calls
Dispatches medical transportation drivers when resident Transport Dispatch Worker is unavailable
Logs all emergency/dispatch calls
Calls emergency pages (e.g., code yellow, blue, C, grey, red/white/blue)
Answers agency switchboard (“0”); directs incoming & in-house calls to departments & residents
Answers all emergency phones & general police when officer is not on stations
Answers transportation phone when resident dispatcher is unavailable
Takes messages for police & safety personnel when they are not available.
Serves as access control checkpoint at Police Department front counter
Monitors all systems at OVH Police Department Central Monitoring Console area for unusual events & dispatches police to troubled/elopement area &/or relays information to police & safety personnel & assists police in coordinating location of resident
Monitors all fire alarm systems for alarm & generator displays & all other environmental, fire, health, safety & severe weather warning devices & controls at central monitoring console area
Monitors state Multi-Agency Radio Communications (i.e., MARCS) radio traffic with Ohio State Highway Patrol (i.e., OSHP)
Monitors roam alert system & notifies floor staff of secure care unit resident activity
Monitors after-hours call-offs; relays all advisories & warning to all areas of agency.
Takes requests for agency ID badges & parking permits from walk‑in customers; maintains log of requests & submits to appropriate police personnel for processing
Issues completed ID badges to customers making annotations in log relative to issued badges & briefings; issues keys
Qualifications
Formal education that includes reading, writing & speaking English, or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualification for Employment
