Assistant Director of Food & Beverage
to join the
Food & Beverage Department .
Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage leads and elevates our culinary and guest service operations across the resort. This leadership role oversees all F&B outlets including on-mountain dining, base lodge food service, special events, and catering, ensuring a consistent and high-quality guest experience that aligns with our brand, values, and business objectives. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Duties & Responsibilities: Leadership & Operations
Directly manage all aspects of food and beverage operations across the resort, including restaurants, bars, coffee shops, quick service, and catering/event operations.
Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team including F&B managers, supervisors, and front-line staff.
Ensure smooth daily operations with a focus on efficiency, quality, cleanliness, and service standards.
Financial Management
Manage annual F&B budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance.
Monitor labor, food, and beverage costs, implementing controls to meet or exceed financial goals.
Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings across all outlets.
Guest Experience & Quality Control
Champion a guest-first culture by ensuring exceptional service and hospitality across all F&B touchpoints.
Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and safety.
Act on guest feedback and operational insights to continuously improve the F&B experience.
Team Development & Training
Hire, train, schedule, and retain talented F&B staff.
Oversee compliance with company policies, health regulations, safety procedures, and training programs.
Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and collaboration across departments.
Strategic Planning & Innovation
Collaborate with resort leadership to align F&B initiatives with company strategy, brand identity, and guest expectations.
Drive seasonal and event-based programming that enhances the culinary offerings and overall resort experience.
Source and build relationships with local vendors, purveyors, and partners to support quality and sustainability initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive F&B leadership experience in a resort, hotel, or high-volume setting.
Proven success managing multi-outlet operations and large teams.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to quality, safety, and delivering exceptional guest service.
Knowledge of food safety regulations, POS systems, and back-of-house processes.
Additional Requirements:
Professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with computer systems, communication platforms, and reservation tools.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
