Role Summary
The RFP Strategy & Operations Specialty (Pharmacy, EAP, Dental) Consultant supports the sales process by preparing, responding, and providing consultation to RFP questionnaires and other response documents. The consultant uses subject‑matter knowledge, a library of pre‑established content, internal resources, and relationships with experts to craft strategically positioned responses that support the company's win strategy. The specialty consultant owns the end‑to‑end questionnaire response for integrated Pharmacy products and may also provide Q&A support for other specialty lines (EAP, Dental). The candidate drives better and faster ways to answer questionnaire content using existing resources (including AI technology) and personal knowledge of the company's business and solutions, interacting with internal and external SMEs as needed. The role is part of the U.S. Commercial RFP Strategy and Operations team and supports all buyer segments (National, Middle Market, Select/U500, G & E, Allegiance/Payer) and may cross‑support other business types (Standalone). Role Components
With effective project and resource management, the consultant collaborates closely with sales, presale, underwriting, content teams, and other matrix partners to support the bid process for prospective and existing clients. The consultant owns the questionnaire response end‑to‑end, presenting the company's enterprise strategy and client‑specific strategy. Responsibilities include managing matrix partner relationships, setting timetables, communicating strategy, ensuring the final questionnaire meets broker/client and sales specifications, and maintaining high quality of the final product. Own the end‑to‑end completion of questionnaires for integrated Pharmacy RFP, RFR, and RFI requests. Think critically about complex questions and unfamiliar topics, conducting thorough research and synthesizing cohesive responses from multiple sources. Maintain a thorough understanding of all buyer segment alignments and nuances, including sales force structure and selling styles. Drive improvement to the RFP process and content by building stronger relationships with matrix partners (Subject Matter Experts, Underwriting). Leverage all available resources (Proposal Library, Microsoft Copilot, Knowledge Exchange, SMEs, Internet, etc.) to obtain needed information. Create unique responses that highlight sales strategy, address the client's key buying criteria, and showcase the company's competitive advantage. Manage outsourcing of all response documents, engaging Content COE and other matrix partners as needed; address any outsourcing redirects promptly. Facilitate calls with key partners to discuss client‑specific issues, collaborate on approaches, and focus team resources. Contribute to and communicate the strategic direction of the RFP questionnaire preparation and coordination through necessary client, industry, and competition research. Manage timeline and negotiate delivery dates with sales teams, topic experts, and matrix partners; provide alternative solutions to meet their needs. Provide clear, timely, and consistent written and verbal communication to sales and other matrix partners. Coordinate closely with medical and other specialty teams for integrated bids; ensure consistent messaging and communicate critical milestones (outsourcing, final drafts, etc.). Support follow‑ups, finalist questionnaires, ad‑hoc requests, and other client response documents as needed. Understand and apply all administrative processes and SOPs within expected timelines; recommend enhancements and participate in project teams to implement changes. Seek opportunities to add consultative value to each RFP through newer, better, and faster completion methods. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or at least 2+ years of relevant proposal or healthcare experience. Good understanding of the company's products and services (a plus, but not required). Strong writing skills, including ability to create proposal responses from scratch with minimal direction. Critical thinker who can absorb large amounts of information and synthesize cohesive messaging. Exceptional verbal communication skills and ability to facilitate conference calls with large groups. High degree of organizational ability and strong project management skills. Strong work ethic, drive to learn, collaborative spirit, and can‑do/will‑do attitude. Customer focused, detail‑oriented, and not afraid to take on a challenge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Benefits and Compensation
Hourly rate: 29-43 USD per hour (dependent on experience and location). Eligible for an annual bonus plan.
