We are seeking a highly detail-oriented
Apparel Technical Designer
to join our team in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for translating design concepts into technically accurate garments by developing detailed technical packages, ensuring proper fit, and maintaining quality standards throughout the product development process.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern development, and apparel production, with hands‑on experience using
Tukatech
and strong proficiency in
Microsoft Excel for managing specs, measurements, and production data .
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain
technical packages (tech packs)
including construction details, measurements, materials, and specifications.
Create and manage
measurement charts, grading rules, and spec sheets using Excel .
Utilize
Tukatech (TUKAcad / TUKA3D)
for pattern development, technical design, and garment specifications.
Review
samples, prototypes, and fit samples , providing clear feedback and revisions.
Conduct and assist with
fit sessions , ensuring garments meet design intent and fit standards.
Maintain and update
Excel-based tracking sheets for measurements, revisions, and product development stages .
Collaborate closely with
design, product development, and production teams
to ensure accurate execution of designs.
Identify construction issues and propose solutions to improve garment quality and consistency.
Communicate technical instructions and fit comments to
factories and vendors .
Track revisions, approvals, and updates throughout the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Technical Design, or related field
preferred.
3+ years of experience
in apparel technical design or garment development.
Proficiency in
Tukatech (TUKAcad / TUKA3D) .
Strong expertise in
Microsoft Excel , including managing measurement sheets, grading charts, and product development tracking.
Strong knowledge of
garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fit analysis .
Experience creating and managing
technical packages and spec sheets .
Familiarity with
Adobe Illustrator and apparel technical design tools .
Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, and apparel production processes.
Excellent attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.
