POSITION SUMMARY In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining parts availability, inventory accuracy, vendor coordination, and day‑to‑day support for technicians, mechanics, and customers. This position plays a critical role in keeping shop operations moving efficiently by ensuring the right parts, supplies, and materials are available when needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Manage and support the daily activities of the Parts Department for technicians, mechanics, and customers

Work closely with the Service and Shop teams to support parts estimates, job readiness, and repair activity

Ensure parts and materials are available to support both general repair and heavy repair operations

Maintain accurate inventory control, including minimum and maximum stock levels for parts and shop supplies

Deliver parts to technician workstations as directed to support workflow and reduce downtime

Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and suppliers

Review next‑day orders, open purchase orders, and shop turnover activity to support service operations

Complete weekly cycle counts and core inventory reporting to maintain inventory accuracy

Print and review warranty parts reports within internal systems including retention, reporting, and shipping requirements

Process invoices for payment and support daily parts‑related administrative activity

Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reporting related to Parts Department activity

Participate in operational meetings and work collaboratively with the Service Team to support department priorities

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional parts room and warehouse environment

Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

2–3+ years of experience in a parts, inventory, warehouse, distribution, or service‑related environment, preferably supporting a shop, service, maintenance, or repair operation

Strong understanding of inventory control, stock management, and parts ordering processes

Automotive, heavy‑duty parts, fleet, equipment, machinery, bus, or motorcoach experience is strongly preferred

Good communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with technicians, vendors, and customers

Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment

Comfortable working with internal systems, reporting tools, and day‑to‑day operational paperwork, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Oracle considered an asset

A proactive, dependable, and hands‑on approach to supporting shop operations

Physical & Workplace Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (75 lbs. with assistance), perform repetitive movements (bending, kneeling, crouching), and work on elevated surfaces or confined spaces.

Must be able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).

Requires visual acuity to read diagnostics and inspect components, as well as hearing ability to detect vehicle noises and alarms.

Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations, while wearing PPE (safety glasses, gloves, and steel‑toed boots).

Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures.
