
Marketing and Branding Coordinator

Description
Under the general supervision of the City’s Venue and Facilities Manager, performs responsible professional and administrative work related to developing the Fairgrounds brand and image by coordinating sponsorships, business meeting sales, and community relationships. Works with local organizations, schools and businesses to disseminate Fairgrounds information. Plans, coordinates and oversees the implementation of special projects and promotes the use and support of activities, programs, and services. Assists in the planning and execution of social media strategy, brand awareness and media coverage.
Examples of Duties
Develops and coordinates effective marketing, branding, and sponsorship opportunities
Sells and solicits meeting space to promote events at Winston‑Salem Fairgrounds, Carolina Classic Fair, and other City facilities as assigned
Creates and maintains relationships with local networking organizations
Creates and maintains local media relationships, including press releases
Provides event and marketing support; prepares and implements contracts for meeting events
Prepares special reports and performs special projects as assigned
Manages special events and programming related to Winston‑Salem Fairgrounds Farmers Market
Primary website manager, social media editor, and email marketing management
Supports planning with internal staff on team‑building, communication, and social strategy
Assists in capturing photo and video content for development of event collateral and promotion
Manages internal and external community event calendars and relationships
Manages event signage and special client instruction for events
Supports creation of graphic, artwork, and event brand management
On‑site media representative
Typical Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work with internal and external partners; excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal and networking skills; knowledge of desktop publishing and other computer skills; ability to thrive and work effectively as an individual within a fast‑paced small team setting; ability to remain self‑motivated and goal‑oriented.
Education And Experience Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, with a concentration in social media or a closely related field.
Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling. Work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Supplemental Information Valid Driver’s License required. Job requires some weekend and evening work based on event schedule.
