
Director of Quality and Food Safety

This role is on-site in Stockton, CA. This is not a remote or hybrid role. Open to relocation.
The Director of Quality and Food Safety works with multiple production departments and personnel to implement strategic and tactical directions/plans in order to consistently provide the highest level of Food Safety and Quality. As such, this position is responsible for designing, implementing, and measuring a proactive comprehensive strategic food safety and quality assurance program that reaches all aspects of food handling to support our key partners. This position will be responsible for coordinating internally with all levels of management, other FSQA leadership personnel, and plant leadership in providing expertise, guidance, recommendations, and requirements as it pertains to FSQA activities.
What You’ll Do:
Ensure that all Quality Assurance functions are being performed, and documented, in an accurate and efficient manner.
Leads and directs SQF, HACCP, GMP, SOP, SSOP, Sanitation, USDA and all audits as company representative.
Develops and administers processes and procedures to ensure all products meet or exceed customer and company specification, along with continuous improvement.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. They also analyze and improve organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Develops, recommends, and implements SOP policies and procedures to improve and maintain overall product quality.
Ensure that established department records and reports are recorded and maintained.
Interfaces and supports Sales, Marketing, vendors and customers with claims and innovative programs.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local food safety regulations to include USDA documentation and recording. Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
Develops and executes health and safety plans in the workplace.
Recommends solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
Evaluates practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
Deep comprehension of sanitation principles.
What You’ll Need:
Passion for delivering safe, quality, and shockingly delicious food to the Kevin’s Natural Foods consumer.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a High-Volume Food Manufacturing Environment.
B.S. Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or other related fields, Graduate degree preferred.
Solid understanding and experience with Food Safety/HACCP plan development and certification.
Experience working in USDA, hot fill and RTE facilities. With an understanding of multiple other food manufacturing processes.
Protein Processing experience is a plus.
PCQI, HACCP, ServSafe certificated, SQF or FSSSC 22000 practitioner preferred.
