Managing Editor

An Agora Company, a growing health publishing and dietary supplement business, is seeking a Managing Editor to join its team in Mt. Vernon, Baltimore. You'll help bring high-impact ideas to life by writing and editing content that informs, engages, and drives results.

This is a fast-paced role with daily writing responsibilities focused on natural health. You'll need to be creative, organized, and collaborative, as editors work closely with marketing, design, and operations teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit articles for daily eletter, paid monthly newsletter, and related products. The Managing Editor is responsible for ensuring clarity, accuracy, voice consistency, and strong reader engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with leading physicians within the natural health space, helping to shape ideas into accessible, high-value content for readers.
  • Manage editorial workflow, timelines, and versioning across multiple projects and products.
  • Use performance insights and feedback to continuously improve content and the reader experience.
  • Be passionate about delivering reader value. Our readers are our business, and we want to make sure we are always serving them well.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; experience in editing, publishing, content management, journalism, or marketing.
  • Strong writer and editor who can meaningfully elevate content. Experience ghostwriting is a plus.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Clear, effective communicator who collaborates well across teams.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Range $60,000 - $70,000 USD

Location(s) & Work Arrangement Baltimore, MD (Mount Vernon). *Hybrid schedule, in office 3x per week.
