Duty Drawback Specialist

The experienced Ascent team solves customers' most challenging logistics needs by providing industry-leading service and top-tier satisfaction. The Duty Drawback Specialist will administer comprehensive support to a client's duty drawback program. Manipulating and analyzing import and export data. Retrieving shipping documents to process drawback claims. When necessary, keying data entry, to convert data into electronic format. Troubleshooting any issues in drawback claims to resolve issues. Working directly with U.S. Customs and completing any verbal and/or written follow up as needed. Coordinate with the client to ensure regulatory compliance with program. Day to day customer service management; and general clerical duties as assigned. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1+ year managing customer accounts 1+ year previous office experience. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel and ten-key preferred. Solid communication skills both verbal and written. Able to effectively present information to customers, prospects, top management, and public groups. Communicates internally with all departments at the corporate office, with other terminals, third parties' agencies, customers and prospects. Must be able to think and react quickly with a sense of urgency to time-sensitive problem situations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Detailed organizational skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Basic geography knowledge (preferred). Applicants should understand the locations of US States and Canadian Provinces including major cities thereof. Must be self-motivated, able to maintain confidentiality, honest, friendly, punctual, and organized, have a positive attitude and be able to work unsupervised.
