Senior Associate - Private IG Credit Corporate
Barings' Private Credit Client Portfolio Management ("CPM") Team is seeking a Senior Associate to join the team with a primary focus on the firm's global private investment grade solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with senior CPM team members, the investment team, sales, as well as other stakeholders as a subject matter expert, focusing on business development, client servicing, and product development to help drive future growth in Barings' private credit strategies. This position will be in Chicago, Illinois. Primary Responsibilities: Be a subject matter expert internally and externally for the firm's private credit capabilities, with a focus on asset-based solutions and private placements Develop and foster a network of successful working relationships with internal stakeholders, including within the investment team, sales and marketing, to help evolve and grow Barings' private credit business globally Create and update marketing, servicing and educational materials on varied aspects of the investment strategies, including presentations, commentaries, strategy updates, ad-hoc updates on credit markets and investor reports Collaborate with various teams internally to respond to requests for related information from clients such as RFPs, RFIs and ad-hoc questions in a timely manner Contribute to dynamic content, technical marketing, and ad-hoc projects used to support and grow Barings' private investment strategies Regularly attend investment team meetings to deepen knowledge of the team's investment capabilities and views on private credit markets Contribute to new product launches. Help ensure coordination and consistency of product-related marketing initiatives and external communications across divisions Stay abreast of market developments and competitor intelligence Qualifications: 2-4 years of relevant work experience, ideally within investment management and/or private credit, asset backed finance or portfolio finance University degree A genuine interest in financial markets Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into investor-friendly content An analytical approach and problem-solving mindset Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment Ability to meet all deadlines with a strong attention to detail Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel required, including experience using MS Office software to produce high quality presentations Willingness to pursue CFA designation and FINRA licenses (as needed) desired Base Salary Range: $100,000-130,000 plus additional incentive compensation Requisite Skills: Analytical Thinking, Cross-Team Collaboration, Deadline Management, Problem Solving, Sharp Attention to Detail (Inactive), Time Prioritization, Verbal Communications, Written Communication Additional Skills: Taking Initiative Barings is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer; Minority/Female/Age/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
