
Air and Ocean Import Specialist

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Air and Ocean Import Specialist for an incredible company in Roswell, GA. The Import Specialist will manage all transportation and logistics aspects of our international orders, from our US plants to overseas customers. The candidate will also be responsible for managing both domestic and international shipments, including tracking, invoicing, and ensuring compliance with trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the full import shipment process, including drayage arrangements, booking, documentation, and tracking/tracing shipments
Arrange U.S. import bookings with ocean and air carriers via EDI and email
Enter and maintain accurate booking details in the ERP system, ensuring updates are reflected in real time
Collaborate with ocean carriers, air carriers, and drayage providers to resolve equipment (container/chassis) issues
Prepare and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (B/L), SEDs, Commercial Invoices (CI), and Packing Lists (PL)
Partner with internal teams (Customer Service, Logistics, Shipping, Production) to manage schedule changes and rolled bookings
Work with credit teams, banks, and customers to support Letters of Credit (LCs), including bank drafts and B/L consignment
Compile and distribute shipment documentation to overseas customers in a timely manner
Audit ocean, air, and ground freight invoices prior to Accounts Payable processing
Maintain and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and customer profiles, including key contacts, requirements, and preferred routing/carriers
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including carrier performance and order accuracy
Provide additional support to the team as needed, based on business requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred
2+ years of ocean import experience within a freight forwarder or large manufacturing environment preferred
Strong understanding of Incoterms and freight responsibility
Working knowledge of ocean, air, and truck transportation
Experience with freight forwarding processes and shipment tracking systems
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities

$24.00 to $27.00 per hour
