Bloomsbury is seeking a dynamic Marketing and Publicity Assistant to join our New York-based team of the Special Interest division. The assistant will assist our small team in the publication and promotion of specialty nonfiction books in popular science, sports & fitness, military history, wildlife, and crafting, as well as our Head of Zeus imprint. Please note that the role will not be working with Sarah J. Maas titles nor YA/Children’s books. This role will perform key administrative tasks for the Marketing & Publicity department and will work closely with the team to create high-impact campaigns across email, social media, publicity and digital marketing efforts. The ideal candidate is creative and has a strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, a love of reading, and is a skilled verbal and written communicator. Written communication involves writing pitches, social media posts, and internal memos. Responsibilities Providing administrative support to the Marketing & Publicity team, including book mailings, gathering title materials, creating sales presentations, and generating internal communications Contributing to list marketing and publicity across a variety of imprints Collaborating with colleagues in Editorial and Sales Assisting the Marketing team with Mailchimp email marketing Assisting the Publicity team with seasonal pitching, research and list building, and managing imprint outreach Assisting the Marketing Associate with season-scheduling for 450+ titles per year with regular master list checks, editorial reminder emails, and accessing reports Creating and managing sales tools, such as Amazon Storefront and A+ Sales Location Candidates must reside be able to work in-person at our Midtown Manhattan office 2 days per week. Requirements 4-year college degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, or other related fields Internship experience in book publishing Demonstrable skill in working in a professional media or publishing environment Strong communication skills suitable for a fast-paced, professional environment Detail-oriented, highly organized with strong time management skills Ability to work in a collaborative team environment Demonstrable interest in publicity and publishing Experience with social networks, including Instagram and TikTok Experience with Biblio, Sprout Social, Mailchimp, and Amazon Vendor Central highly preferred About Bloomsbury Bloomsbury USA is an independent, author-focused publishing house that is committed to bringing groundbreaking fiction and expertise-driven nonfiction to a global audience.
