Automated Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. (AMS) is a custom machine builder specializing in the design and integration of advanced automation systems for manufacturing. Our equipment includes robotic welding cells, assembly systems, inspection systems, and custom automation designed to improve productivity, quality, and manufacturing efficiency. Our customers include leading manufacturers in the automotive, transportation, and industrial sectors. AMS is seeking a Sales Engineer / Automation Sales Representative to develop new customer relationships, identify automation opportunities, and work closely with our engineering team to deliver high-value automation solutions.

Position Summary The Primary role and responsibility of the Automation Sales Representative is to grow an already existing customer base.The Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying automation opportunities within manufacturing organizations and developing custom automation solutions that meet customer needs. This role requires the ability to understand manufacturing processes, communicate technical concepts, and guide customers through the process of defining automation projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with plant managers, manufacturing engineers, and purchasing teams while collaborating internally with AMS engineering and project teams.

Key Responsibilities Business Development

* Identify and pursue new automation opportunities with manufacturers * Develop relationships with plant managers, manufacturing engineers, and purchasing departments * Prospect new customers within target industries including automotive and industrial manufacturing * Maintain and expand relationships with existing AMS customers

Technical Sales

* Evaluate customer manufacturing processes to identify automation opportunities * Work with AMS engineering to develop automation concepts and solutions * Prepare proposals, quotations, and technical presentations * Present automation concepts to customers and explain system functionality and ROI

Project Development

* Gather customer requirements and define project scope * Coordinate internally with engineering, controls, and project management teams * Participate in project kickoff meetings and customer reviews * Assist in managing expectations during project development

Sales Management

* Maintain an organized sales pipeline * Track opportunities and sales activities * Provide regular sales forecasts and reporting to management * Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer visits

Required Qualifications

* 5+ years of experience in technical sales, automation sales, or capital equipment sales * Strong understanding of manufacturing environments * Ability to read or understand mechanical and automation concepts * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Self-motivated and comfortable working independently * Willingness to travel (approximately 25-40%)

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience selling robotic systems, welding automation, assembly automation, or custom machinery * Background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering * Existing relationships within manufacturing organizations * Experience selling to automotive suppliers
