Job Opportunity: Property and Casualty Binding Underwriter Overview This role involves managing a portfolio of accounts, driving new and renewal business opportunities, and making sound underwriting decisions in alignment with established guidelines.

Responsibilities

Underwrite new and renewal property and casualty business, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and guidelines.

Evaluate risks by analyzing coverage value, location, usage, safety features, and other relevant factors to determine appropriate terms and premiums.

Manage a portfolio of property and casualty accounts, ensuring active oversight and adherence to performance targets.

Collaborate with brokers to create customized insurance solutions and maintain long-term professional relationships.

Provide premium forecasts and business plans to support budgetary and performance objectives.

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to refine underwriting strategies.

Execute marketing activities, attend seminars, and participate in training to remain updated on market dynamics and underwriting trends.

Ensure compliance with state and country laws, as well as carrier and organizational guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting.

Possession of state Property & Casualty and/or surplus line licenses (minimum requirements must be met).

Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is a plus.

Day-to-Day

Review and assess new and renewal business submissions, ensuring timely and accurate decision-making.

Communicate with brokers to gather necessary information, negotiate terms, and provide exceptional service.

Analyze data to identify exposures and make informed underwriting decisions.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and other stakeholders to foster business growth.

Monitor and manage the performance of the assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Stay updated on market conditions and adjust underwriting practices as needed.

Please note that this position offers the flexibility to work remotely from any location within the United States, with a specific opening in Scottsdale, AZ.
