What Your Day Will Look Like
As a bridge engineering designer, you’ll provide technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and construction infrastructure projects. You’ll assist with the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of load‑bearing structures such as bridges, signs, walls, and transportation facilities. The bridge design engineer reports to the design manager.
What You’ll Do
Provide technical support on a variety of bridge projects.
Perform bridge inspections, assessment, and rehabilitation design.
Review shop drawings and provide field technical support during bridge construction.
Complete quantities and construction cost estimates.
Prepare reports and conduct cost estimating.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) Certification.
Hybrid work environment: office and field. Requires use of standard office equipment and occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazardous conditions, and bodies of water depending on project requirements.
Physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and occasionally operating a company vehicle; lifting 35 lbs or less.
