Industry Manager (Director of Sales) – Pharma Sales Team
Reporting to the Head of Sales at CVS Media Exchange (CMX).
Hybrid model with 2 onsite days per week (Tuesday/Wednesday) at one of the following locations:
Boston, MA or Wellesley, MA
Woonsocket, RI
New York / Soho area, NY
Blue Bell, PA
Chicago, IL
Responsibilities
Create sales strategy and build a culture of collaboration to achieve industry-wide sales targets within the annual operating plan by building plans to achieve internal annual objectives.
Develop a sales strategy for Pharma with a minimum sales target of around $30M+; finalize revenue targets for each account along with partner managers based on past trend analysis.
Recommend broad approaches and areas of opportunity to meet the targets and long‑range plans to senior leadership and team, highlighting areas of concern or bottlenecks.
Understand the industry strategy across other departments including trade, legal, marketing, eCommerce marketing, product, strategy and in-store.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including trade heads, general managers, senior partners of manufacturers, agencies and marketers to drive the business forward.
Lead by example by providing direction and guidance to associates on best‑in‑class approach to all of CMX’s offerings including self‑service, onsite, offsite, social, and in‑store; conduct weekly meetings, provide constructive feedback, and engage and mentor less‑experienced managers and associates.
Oversee and be responsible for financial results in the area of responsibility by building action plans to achieve annual objectives across various groups (e.g., product, platform, operations, finance, marketing, research, strategy, and sales).
Drive a cross‑team/functional workstream; track against key performance metrics; create a playbook for the industry in partnership with other industry managers; craft conference‑worthy case studies demonstrating the approach, solution provided, success story, and results achieved.
Provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; develop, communicate, build support for, and implement business strategies, plans, and practices; analyze costs and forecasts and incorporate them into business plans; determine and support resource requirements; evaluate operational processes.
Measure outcomes to ensure desired results; identify and capitalize on improvement opportunities; promote a customer environment; demonstrate adaptability and sponsor continuous learning.
Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruit, select, and develop talent; support mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; leverage the capabilities of new and existing talent.
Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; develop consequences for violations or non‑compliance; support the Open Door Policy.
Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engage key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; support associate efforts in these areas.
Own strategic high‑level relationships within the Pharma space that result in leveraging CMX’s full omni‑channel solutions for Pharma brands and manufacturers.
Required Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in advertising sales, advertising and sales, with 3+ years’ experience selling advertising in the Pharma space.
3+ years’ experience managing high‑performing media sales teams. Strong portfolio of relationships within the Pharma space.
Experience with retail media or retail/eCommerce agency experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Retail Media Network, Pharma sales, eCommerce sales and/or retail advertising sales experience.
Experience in brand advertising, media sales, customer acquisition and in‑store (digital screens, audio).
Pharma team lead management experience.
Excellent communication skills that can be effectively articulated in both written and verbal forms across a diverse audience base.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising or Consumer Psychology, or equivalent (HS Diploma and 4 years of experience) required. Master’s degree preferred.
Pay Range $105,000.00 – $231,132.00
