Opened in 1992 and designed by Rocky Roquemore and Jeff Burton, the course is known for its challenging layout, featuring rolling hills, elevation changes, and striking natural granite outcroppings that create a scenic and strategic playing experience. The club is professionally managed by Bobby Jones Links.Chapel Hills is hiring for a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent. Primary responsibilities include:* Assist in managing all agronomic practices for 36 holes, including mowing, fertility programs, irrigation, plant protectant applications, and cultural practices.* Supervise and train maintenance staff; lead daily scheduling and task execution.* Monitor turf health, soil moisture, and environmental conditions to make data-driven recommendations.* Support calibration, mixing, and application of fertilizers and plant protection products in accordance with regulations and best management practices.* Assist with irrigation system management, troubleshooting, and water-use strategy.* Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently; coordinate with the equipment manager as needed.* Maintain detailed records including chemical applications, weather data, and maintenance logs.* Participate in course setup and presentation to meet club expectations.* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and long-term agronomic planning.* Step into leadership roles in the Superintendent’s absence.## Qualifications**REQUIRED SKILLS*** Knowledge of warm-season turf management and southeastern growing conditions desirable.* Georgia pesticide license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.* Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required in golf course operations.* Commitment to professionalism, team development.**Physical Demands and Work Environment*** Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.* Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.* Occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
