Crosspoint Church Worship Leader is responsible for guiding a congregation in musical worship, blending technical musical skills with pastoral leadership to create an engaging service. Key duties include planning weekly services, selecting songs, rehearsing with teams, mentoring musicians, and collaborating with pastoral staff to align music with the message. Crosspoint Church typically plays Contemporary Christian Music, the songs that are played on mainstream Christian radio. Examples include Phil Wickham, Chris Tomlin, Brandon Lake, Elevation Worship, Hillsong United, etc.

Core Responsibilities

Service Planning & Leading: Select songs, arrange music, and facilitate corporate worship through singing, prayer, and scripture, ensuring a smooth flow.

Team Leadership: Recruit, audition, schedule, and train volunteer musicians and vocalists.

Rehearsal Management: Lead weekly rehearsals, directing the band on arrangements, dynamics, and technical proficiency.

Pastoral Collaboration: Meet with the pastor to align worship with the overall vision, theme, or sermon.

Technical Coordination: Oversee sound, lighting, projection, and livestreaming elements.

Spiritual Mentorship: Shepherd the worship team spiritually, encouraging their growth and fostering unity.

Administration: Manage the music budget, licensing for copyrighted songs, and equipment maintenance.

Key Objectives

Focus on God: Guide the congregation to focus on Jesus rather than the performance.

Prepare Hearts: Create an atmosphere that allows people to engage in worship.

Develop Culture: Curate a diverse, multigenerational worship experience.
