THE POSITION The Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive institutional giving program focused on corporate sponsorships and foundation grants. This position builds and stewards relationships with current and prospective funders, develops compelling proposals and partnership opportunities, and ensures that all commitments are fulfilled and recognized. The Director will work closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and program teams to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities and impact goals.
This is a highly entrepreneurial role that requires both strategic thinking and hands‑on execution. The ideal candidate is motivated by growth, energized by building new partnerships, and skilled at translating mission impact into compelling value propositions for corporate and foundation investors. They will bring a business development mindset to fundraising—identifying untapped opportunities, designing creative sponsorships, and generating new revenue streams that fuel the organization’s mission.
This role will be instrumental in rebuilding and scaling Social Current’s institutional giving function. The Director will join as a department of one, with the autonomy and support to build systems, strategy, and pipeline from the ground up. For major national foundation partnerships (e.g., Annie E. Casey Foundation), the Chief Revenue Officer and CEO will serve as collaborative partners on cultivation and solicitation.
Year 1 (2026) : Ramp‑up year. Assess the current portfolio, re‑establish lapsed relationships, and rebuild the grants pipeline and corporate sponsorship program. The organizational target is $2.5M in institutional giving revenue; the expectation is that the new Director will focus on laying the groundwork and closing existing opportunities rather than hitting the full target, given the department is being rebuilt from zero.
Year 2 (2027) : Growth year. Expand the foundation pipeline with new national and regional prospects, grow the corporate sponsorship portfolio, and move toward a target of $3M in annual institutional giving revenue.
Year 3 (2028) : Maturity year. Sustain and exceed $3M annually. Deepen multi‑year foundation partnerships, diversify the corporate sponsor base.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Corporate Partnerships
Proactively identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partners to support offerings, initiatives, and events.
Design and present tailored sponsorship proposals that align corporate objectives with the organization’s mission and brand.
Negotiate and close sponsorships that drive measurable revenue growth and long‑term relationships.
Collaborate with communications and all internal teams to ensure sponsorship benefits, deliverables, and recognition commitments are met.
Maintain detailed prospect and partnership information in Salesforce; generate reports and dashboards to track performance.
Foundation Relations
Research and prioritize new foundation prospects and funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
Draft and edit high‑quality concept notes, letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and reports in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Manage proposal and reporting calendars, ensuring timely submission and compliance with all requirements.
Build and maintain relationships with program officers and foundation staff to advance multi‑year, mission‑aligned partnerships.
Data, Systems, and Reporting
Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date donor records, activities, and communications in Salesforce.
Create reports, track progress toward revenue and engagement goals, and contribute to development dashboards and performance metrics.
Support continuous improvement of CRM data hygiene and fundraising processes to optimize revenue tracking.
Strategy and Collaboration
Partner with the Chief Revenue Officer to set annual institutional giving and sponsorship revenue targets and strategies.
Bring creativity and business acumen to partnership design, helping the organization evolve its institutional giving and sponsorship models.
Participate in cross‑departmental planning to align fundraising with communications, policy, and organizational priorities.
Represent the organization at external events, conferences, and funder meetings as needed.
Brand and Culture
Serve as a Brand Ambassador: Actively represent Social Current’s mission, vision, values, and offerings in all professional interactions.
Champion the Social Current Business Model: Provide strategic leadership by connecting fundraising efforts to all facets of the organization’s revenue sources and initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or institutional relations, with a record of securing and managing five‑ and six‑figure gifts and sponsorships.
Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated success in building or expanding corporate sponsorship or other revenue‑generating programs.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to craft persuasive, tailored proposals and sponsorship packages.
Proven experience using Salesforce (or a comparable CRM) for donor management, reporting, and analytics.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities; able to engage confidently with senior executives, funders, and partners.
Self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment and is motivated by achieving ambitious revenue goals.
LOCATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS This is a full‑time, remote position (35 hours per week). Travel to and attend in‑person staff meetings or events at least once annually.
The salary range for this role is $87,500 to $111,563. Social Current offers a competitive compensation package, including PTO; medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
