
Housing & Dining Marketing & Media Asst (Student/Work Study)

Job Summary
The Housing & Residential Life seeks a talented, energetic, and reliable student for a communication‑oriented position. This is an on‑campus, part‑time job opportunity.
Responsibilities
Manage and create social media content including Instagram and TikTok.
Coordinate tabling for HRL staff, including shifts, tabling materials, and flyers.
Track inventory of relevant tabling and event materials.
Organize and execute events as requested.
Take pictures for events.
Operate and update Campus Connections.
Assist with creation of training materials and other educational materials.
Create flyers and other digital/print media for events and opportunities.
Assist in finding, and formatting relevant content for monthly Housing/Dining newsletter(s).
Assist in updating Housing webpage draft documents to reflect current Housing resources and offerings.
Track relevant metrics that will contribute to the Housing & Residence Life & program's assessment and continued progress.
Write articles for website material, newsletter content, or other uses.
Use Microsoft Excel to compile data.
Assist with the collection of surveys, opinion polls or questionnaire data.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled UM‑Flint student.
Able to work both independently and with a team.
Quick learner.
Self‑motivated.
Desired Qualifications
Work study award.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong ability to think critically.
Understanding of marketing design and layout software; Canva or Adobe preferred.
Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Ability to communicate and work with diverse constituents.
Professional demeanor.
Knowledge of data collection methods, such as surveys, opinion polls, and questionnaires.
Work Location Flint Campus, Flint, MI.
Modes of Work Work is required onsite. Onsite is defined as a designated U‑M‑owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
