About the Position On‑campus, in‑person role. The Sr. Dir. of Football Creative Strategy will execute the creative digital marketing strategy for SMU football, overseeing social media, graphic design, photography, and video, ensuring the program's vision and SMU branding is woven into all creative content.

Reports to the Assistant Athletic Director/Football Operations; dotted line to Sr. Associate AD /Brand Advancement and Strategic Communications.

Essential Functions

Contribute to the overall vision and goals of SMU football by executing a creative digital marketing strategy.

Oversee the production of high‑impact creative content, including social media, video, graphics, presentations, and video boards for recruiting, game day, and football operations.

Collaborate closely with the football recruiting team to create and deliver a high‑level communications calendar that supports recruiting efforts and aligns with the Head Coach's vision.

Establish planning methods and rhythm of meetings to effectively tell the story and elevate the brand of SMU football.

Manage football creative staff and lead student workers within the department.

Ensure all creative content aligns with the program vision and branding of SMU football and SMU Athletics.

Work regular evening and weekend hours; travel for away games on weekends.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

Minimum seven years of experience creating and distributing creative content across digital and social media platforms.

Minimum one year of supervisory/management experience.

Experience in collegiate athletics preferred.

Experience executing digital content and creative strategies that drive audience engagement.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Strong problem‑solving and creative thinking skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions.

Excellent organizational, planning, and time‑management skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Understanding of Division 1 football program needs and compliance with NCAA, ACC, and university regulations.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and Microsoft Office.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Sit for long periods of time.

Carry or lift 25–50 lbs.

Reach above shoulders.
