Summary As a member of the Business Development’s Pursuit team, the Pursuits & Directories Coordinator – Global has a primary responsibility for collaborating with others to create compelling deliverables that best position the firm to win work. The role supports the MBD team in developing client‑centric, compliant, on‑time pitches and introductory material, maintaining business development standard content, updating the experience library, and collaborating with attorneys and colleagues on directory submissions.

Location This position can be located in Miami, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Raleigh, San Diego, Seattle, Short Hills, Washington DC, or Wilmington and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Supports the team throughout the pitch and proposal response lifecycle, including tracking opportunities, developing project plans, scheduling kick‑off calls, drafting content, and ensuring high‑quality, error‑free proposals.

Creates initial pitch and proposal drafts and updates them based on attorney and colleague input in alignment with best practices.

Participates in conversations with attorney teams and MBD colleagues to identify win themes and leverages client research to tailor pitches, proposals and directories to differentiate DLA Piper from competitors with clear value propositions.

Assists in following up on opportunities to ascertain win/loss status.

Supports maintenance of standard materials in conjunction with BD and Marketing, ensuring materials are updated consistently after pitches.

Utilizes and instills discipline in AI among teams to improve both process and content creation.

Drafts, edits, formats, and reviews proposal documents to ensure the final submission meets all requirements.

Prepares unique content and graphics to enhance proposal and pitch meeting documents.

Shares ideas for creative new ways to enhance proposal and presentation products.

Works with groups to ensure standard content is accurate and updated.

Provides tailored and formatted experience lists and/or facilitates curated self‑service lists.

Works with stakeholders on initial drafts of Chambers and Legal 500 directory submissions and coordinates project management of the process.

Desired Skills Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. Must have database experience and knowledge of management systems and presentation software. General understanding of the role of business development within a law firm environment. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving capabilities, solid judgment, and decision‑making abilities. Ability to recommend and implement solutions. Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with team members, marketing professionals, attorneys, pricing staff and others. Growth‑mindset and team‑oriented to contribute to overall department projects and needs.

Preferred Skills

Bilingual fluent in Spanish.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, or related discipline.

Minimum Years of Experience

2 years’ project/production experience, including management of pitches & proposals in a professional services environment.

Physical Demands Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work Environment The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in‑office work, the requirement for which will be determined in coordination with the hiring manager or supervisor and may be modified in the firm’s discretion in the future.

Compensation and Benefits The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $30.98 – $46.33 per hour depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. Non‑exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
