Amazon MGM Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. In service of Amazon’s Prime Video customers and theatrical audiences globally, it is our role to produce and acquire content, including popular Originals such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Boys, Fallout, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Project Hail Mary, Road House, The Idea of You, and Red One. Within Amazon MGM Studios, we are seeking an experienced individual contributor to support and partner closely with the Head of Studios Strategy & Business Development in Culver City, CA. The Sr. Strategy Manager, Studios Originals will collaborate across three Studio Verticals: TV, Film (Streaming & Theatrical), and International. This role will support cross‑program strategic work that shapes long‑term content strategy, augments Studios analytics & tooling, and helps support cross‑functional collaboration beyond the Studio. The ideal candidate is a proven strategist who has a strong passion for the entertainment business, possesses seasoned stakeholder management experience, and has the ability to serve as a thought partner to executive‑levels of leadership.
Key Job Responsibilities
Partner with Strategy Team leaders on analyzing and evaluating the performance of the Global, US and International Originals programs
Serve as a cross‑functional strategic partner, building strong working relationships across teams including creative development, physical production, business affairs, finance, programming, marketing, and PR
Synthesize complex information from multiple stakeholders to draft strategy documents providing clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership on content investments, slate strategy, and business planning
Contribute to the development of analytical frameworks and strategic methodologies that enhance the organization’s content planning capabilities
Act as a bridge between movies, television, and international strategy teams to align on goals and improve upon shared tools and resources
Basic Qualifications
5+ yrs of experience in an analytically rigorous role (e.g., management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, content strategy) with increasing levels of responsibility
Proven track record of managing complex, cross‑functional strategy initiatives from end‑to‑end
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations to VP‑level and above audiences
Excellent analytical capabilities and experience using complex modeling and analysis to inform key business decisions
Strong understanding of the entertainment business
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or similar advanced degree
Prior experience in content strategy at a streaming service
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
