The inaugural Public Relations Manager for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is situated in the Dean's office. Surrounded by a strong team, this role's portfolio centers on issues management and crisis communication. It involves:
Assessing issues and policies relevant to academic medicine, and working cross-functionally with peers throughout the organization to develop and implement public relations strategy
Serving as a trusted advisor to the school’s Chief Communications Officer and leadership
Cultivating strong stakeholder relationships within and outside of the organization
Aiding with crisis readiness and engaging in crisis communication when needed
This role is a perfect fit for someone with a public relations or communication background and interest in public affairs, or public affairs background with strong track record in PR and communication. Due to the nature of the job, the role requires 100% on-site presence in the Health Sciences Learning Center at University of Wisconsin–Madison.
