The Role The Sales Associate (SA) collaborates closely with Loan Officers and Relationship Managers to meet loan production targets by establishing and maintaining continuous business relationships with borrowers. The SA aids in managing the pipeline, loan processes, and portfolio management to support the Loan Officers and Relationship Managers.
Responsibilities
Assist Loan Officers and Relationship Managers in building sponsor and loan files, collecting conditions, managing loan processes, and communicating status updates to customers.
Provide ongoing support to Loan Officers and Relationship Managers throughout the life of a loan, including follow‑ups with customers, document collection, and serve as the main internal point of contact for assigned loans.
Apply basic knowledge of loan structuring, including front‑end guidance, underwriting requirements, and loan products.
Develop a needs list based on the review of the loan structure and AscentDS's underwriting requirements.
Examine files for potential issues ("red flags") in loan documentation to ensure the package is sufficient and complete.
Engage directly with borrowers to obtain sufficient initial documentation for submission to underwriting or portfolio management, reviewing loan packages and structures to ensure they meet lending criteria.
Recommend and implement best practices as part of Ascent’s dedication to creating an industry‑leading customer experience.
Perform other functions and assist with additional projects as assigned by Sales or Credit/Risk Management.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in sales or customer service, focused on construction and bridge business purpose lending or equivalent experience.
Proficient in MS Office and ideally SharePoint; adaptable to learning new tools and technologies in a dynamic setting.
Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
Strong organizational and execution capabilities with a focus on driving results.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow‑up and the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to communicate confidently with borrowers via email and phone on a regular basis.
Highly self‑motivated to learn new skills, concepts, and technologies critical to success.
Team player with the flexibility, resilience, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
Pay
Compensation range: $31.00 – $40.00 per hour plus overtime with a discretionary bonus plan of 15% per year.
Work Environment
On‑site, Monday – Thursday (Fridays are work‑from‑home).
Full‑time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.
Some nights and weekends required.
