Director, Leasing

We are building a fast‑growing, dynamic REIT in Southern California. As the Director, Leasing you will lead revenue generation, spearhead value‑creation initiatives, and strengthen client relationships across a diverse portfolio of assets.

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid model – a balanced blend of remote and in‑office work.

Key Responsibilities

Expert Deal Making:

Demonstrate strong proficiency in commercial lease negotiations, focusing on industrial lease transactions across Southern California in line with portfolio objectives.

Team Leadership:

Manage, mentor and motivate a team of leasing professionals, set clear performance expectations, support professional growth, and promote collaboration with internal teams.

Broker Engagement:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with brokerage community to accelerate leasing of vacant space, evaluate prospective tenants, and support long‑term portfolio performance.

Strategic Renewals:

Lead execution of lease renewals, working closely with tenants and brokers to strengthen relationships and retain high‑quality tenancy.

Strategic Marketing:

Partner with external brokers, senior leadership, and internal marketing teams to develop and implement leasing and marketing strategies that enhance visibility, drive demand, and unlock value‑creation opportunities.

Document Management:

Prepare, review and negotiate lease‑related documentation—including letters of intent, leases, work letters and broker agreements—to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Rexford’s objectives.

Market Research:

Monitor market conditions—rental rates, competitive inventory, tenant demand, and recent transactions—to provide actionable insights that inform leasing decisions.

Requisite Skills

Team player with proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and consistently drive leasing outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.

Exceptional Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate leasing strategies and negotiate effectively with tenants, brokers, and internal partners.

Innovative Problem‑Solving:

Ability to understand tenant business needs and develop practical, creative leasing solutions.

Analytical Acumen:

Strong analytical skills for lease‑related calculations and interpreting net effective rent schedules to secure optimal outcomes for Rexford.

Industry Fluency:

Thorough knowledge of commercial and industrial lease structures, documentation, and market practices with a strong grasp of Southern California industrial real estate fundamentals.

Compensation Rexford’s total reward plan includes a premier benefits package, bonus eligibility, and long‑term stock incentives. Expected salary range: $155,000 – $175,000, with a 50% discretionary annual bonus target and stock grant eligibility. Base salary and total compensation will be described in any offer letter.
