As a PMO Director, you will be leading a team of project leaders responsible for the delivery of innovative and emerging technology solutions for Fortune 500 customers across all verticals. The PMO Director provides enterprise-level leadership for the Project Management Organization, ensuring the organization delivers exceptional client outcomes while maintaining strong financial performance and operational scalability. This role leads a regional PMO organization spanning Program Management, Project Managers and Delivery Managers, and is accountable for aligning project delivery capabilities with enterprise strategy.
The PMO Director operates the PMO as a business within the business—balancing customer experience, profitability, workforce strategy, and long-term capability development. The PMO Director partners cross-functionally with Sales, Delivery, Finance, and Operations leaders within their area of the business and collaborates with peer PMO leaders globally to drive a unified “OnePMO” model. This leader advocates for the vision, builds leaders of leaders, and ensures the PMO is a strategic enabler of growth and differentiation across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities & Success Expectations Strategic Leadership & Execution
Translate enterprise PMO strategy into actionable regional execution plans
Align regional PMO priorities to the broader Professional Services vision and enterprise objectives.
Promote a culture of accountability where client outcomes, profitability, and operational discipline drive sustainable growth.
Balance customer satisfaction with business health—making sound prioritization decisions that support both regional and enterprise goals.
Identify regional market trends and delivery needs to ensure PMO capabilities align with growth opportunities.
Contribute to evolving PMO maturity, scalability, and business alignment through active participation in enterprise initiatives.
Delivery Governance & Financial Management
Ensure consistent adoption of enterprise PMO methodologies, governance standards, and tools within the region.
Maintain disciplined oversight of portfolio health, risk reviews, documentation controls, forecasting accuracy and performance reporting.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scalability, efficiency, and delivery quality.
Support training, development, and certification efforts aligned with enterprise PMO standards.
Own regional PMO financial performance including utilization, margin contribution, cost center health, and forecasting accuracy.
Focus on aggregate regional utilization and capacity management, ensuring responsible enterprise-wide workforce planning and intelligent hiring decisions.
Monitor and communicate the value delivered by the regional PMO, including gross profit contribution, efficiency gains, and operational improvements to be shared with peer PMO leaders.
Team Leadership, Coaching, and Development
Lead and develop a high-performing regional PMO leadership team (Senior Managers, Managers, Project & Program Leaders).
Empower leaders through coaching and guidance while holding them accountable for performance and outcomes.
Develop succession plans and leadership development pathways across the regional PMO.
Foster a culture of ownership and root-cause problem solving within the region.
Stakeholder Partnership & Collaboration
Build trusted partnerships with regional Sales and Delivery leaders to proactively support opportunity shaping and project leadership strategy. Positioning the PMO team as a strategic enabler of growth.
Identify solutions that enable engagement and value creation among internal stakeholders.
Demonstrate executive presence in client and leadership interactions.
Serve as the primary PMO escalation and decision point within the geography.
Collaborate with peer Regional PMO Directors and the Senior PMO Director to ensure alignment across geographies.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Related Field required, Masters of Business Administration, MBA preferred
A minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in a related field
10+ years PMO and management experience
Experience managing global engagements and teams and ability to support teams in US-East Coast, EMEA and APAC time zones
Global Financial and Global Service Provider experience a plus
Thorough understanding of financial processes - P&L and financial management
Thorough understanding of the contract process; ability to manage contract modifications, and take the lead of negotiations surrounding contract scope, cost, and schedule
Strong customer service orientation with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strategic thinker with the ability to take a broad view of the business, industry, and environment to anticipate and plan for future
Proven experience embracing and initiating change
Can distinguish what to preserve and what to change
Has the courage to initiate and lead the changes that drive success
Strong leadership skills with ability to develop talent, identify and cultivate essential skills and attributes to maximize individual contribution and engagement

In-depth understanding of core deployment methodologies
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification through Project Management Institute (PMI-ACP) preferred or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) preferred or The Projects in Controlled Environments certification (PRINCE2)
