Job Overview
Position: Senior Designer on the Product Led Growth (PLG) and AI Customer Success Manager (CSM) Agent teams at Toast.
Role: Design end‑to‑end AI‑first experiences that monitor business health, provide proactive support, and guide restaurant operators toward growth and adoption of Toast products. Work directly with PMs, data scientists, and engineers to shape emerging agentic experiences across the customer journey.
Key Responsibilities
Design intuitive user experiences for AI‑powered products, including conversational interfaces, agentic workflows, and LLM‑driven systems.
Develop and evaluate conversational flows across chat and voice interfaces; manage prompt engineering, context engineering, and mitigate hallucinations.
Define and orchestrate how the CSM agent coordinates with core agent, Toast IQ, and specialist agents to execute complex workflows.
Create and prototype AI‑native artifacts using tools such as Cursor, v0, Replit, and Figma; deliver functional prototypes for real‑customer testing.
Define AI‑specific success metrics and use conversation logs and model behavior data to drive iterative design.
Maintain knowledge of AI infrastructure concepts relevant to design (RAG pipelines, tool use, Model Context Protocol, agent orchestration patterns).
Create and manage evaluations for AI outputs, advocate human‑centered guardrails.
Qualifications
Strong product design experience, especially working with AI‑powered interfaces.
Expertise in conversational and voice interface design and AI prompt engineering.
Experience designing agentic workflows and orchestration across multiple agents.
Proficiency in AI‑native prototyping tools and Figma.
Data‑driven mindset with ability to define and measure success metrics for AI interactions.
Understanding of AI infrastructure and agent orchestration patterns.
Collaborative skill working with ML engineers, product managers, and data scientists.
Nice to Have
Experience and passion for the restaurant industry.
Prior work designing AI chatbots, voice assistants, or product‑led growth funnels.
Curiosity or ability to build AI agents.
