Job Overview
We’re looking for a full-time web content strategist to guide the creation of content that is useful, accessible, engaging, and meets clients’ business goals. This temporary full-time, hybrid role will involve a six‑month engagement working on website projects across various industries.
Here’s the work you’ll do
Execute content strategy work across all stages of a project, from discovery to post‑launch. These activities could include:
Conducting user and stakeholder interviews, content‑focused usability testing, and competitive analyses.
Completing content audits that involve understanding existing content sources and defining content gaps.
Reviewing web analytics and other inputs to identify needed content improvements.
Creating content strategy deliverables, such as content outlines, gap analyses, and governance documentation that provide a basis for web content development.
Planning site migrations, ensuring site design and features work with real content, helping with the content entry process, and training client authors when needed.
Plan and lead workshops to define and prioritize web content needs.
Help manage content development, maintenance, and optimization processes.
Complete content modeling and taxonomy design activities.
Be an advocate for plain language that helps guide users to what they need.
Outline web pages and work closely with writers by lending a hand in the writing process when needed.
Collaborate effectively as part of a client‑facing, cross‑functional team, and mentor junior team members as needed.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
At least six years’ working experience, ideally in web content strategy or related disciplines such as content design. If your experience is in a different field, but you can explain how your skills transfer to web content strategy, please apply and tell us about your experience.
Familiarity with writing for the web, UX design, information architecture, and interaction design.
Demonstrated strength in problem‑solving and effective decision making.
Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, managing complex and simultaneous projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly convey information to upper management and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with tools such as Content Workflow, Miro, and Airtable is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position will not have direct reports but will be expected to mentor junior teammates and to lead by example and influence.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
